Was hoping someone would make me an offer. It has no rust and runs, light works as well. Heating element might need to be changed. What do you think a fair price would be? I would be willing to throw in the kenmore washer next to it. The washer runs but has an issue with the knob during rinse cycle. It could be an easy fix though

Maytag dryer re;

We can only see the top. Does it have the chrome trim around the top edge? The early 60's ones did. I recognize the console as one. My aunt had those, but in gas.

Maytag Water Condensing Dryer

combo52's profile picture

This is a rare water cooled condensing dryer from the early 60s. These were based on MTs earlier dryer platform that they used before the HOH dryers came out.

We restored one about 20 years ago that we have here at the warehouse, these dryers work quite well and only use 1/3 gallon of water per minute. Hopefully someone will get this rare dryer.

That is an amazing fact. I wasn't aware that Maytag made a condenser dryer.
Since I'm in Florida, shipping would be prohibitive. Otherwise that thing would have already been on it's way home to me!
The curiosity factor alone is killing me.
Good luck with the sale. Hopefully it will find a new home soon.

Most of the year the cold water in FL is too warm to make a condenser dryer work efficiently. The airflow version of this, which we also have, vented through a 3 inch pipe. It was one of the dryers check rated by CU in the mid 50s. The HOH was never the dryer this model was. It has a huge drum. Maybe Mr. Trump would like it.
