It is too funny to see this ad today and think back to the Luddites at Maytag and the downfall of the company brought on by their shortsightedness.
Is Fred the one that did not reproduce and left the company without an heir? He should have conducted a search for boys interested in washing machines and adopted one or more to keep that failing enterprise going.
