From what one has gleaned from around the Internet those washers need replacement motors often it seems. Don't Asko units use brush motors? If so could it be just a swapping out of old for new would fix the problem?
Probably number one reason see Asko washers up for sale on CL or eBay is the motor having gone out. Most owners simply feel the cost of a new one plus labor is more than the machine is worth it seems. |

I'm sure mine just needed new brushes. The first one went out after a hose leaked underneath (due to a puncture from something someone else left in a pocket) so I just replaced it. The second one I almost replaced the brushes but opted for a brand new motor before Repair Clinic ran out of them. I still have it and will probably try it soon...if it works, great then I have my next replacement ready. It's just a matter of time before I am no longer able to keep Britta running and will have to bring out my backup Miele. I paid $200 for a new motor and had it installed in less than 30 minutes. |
