I posted in Imperial a while back that I'd picked up a really nice, little old lady owned Maytag A207, and until yesterday, it was being used as our daily driver. Started a load, it ran through the wash and rinse cycles properly, then went into the final spin and the timer never moved again, spin cycle ran for about 25 minutes. I can hear the timer motor running where pauses should be, but it won't advance the dial. Everything else on the washer is as near mint as you could get. A little minor wear on the sides of the machine, but it looks like new otherwise. No wear on the control panel buttons or timer dial, tub (standard capacity) is gorgeous and shiny, it runs great. Starts up a little slow if it's cold. Will be missing the softener cup. Hate to let it go but I don't have time to mess with it. Also have a Maytag LA308 in well used but working condition, asking for $40 for that one, since that's what I have in it. Pick up in Jackson Michigan, or I can meet within a reasonable distance (say an hour in any direction) for the cost of gas. Also willing to hold it for pickup by a shipping company if that's what you want to do- I won't crate or package it though. It's really too nice to see scrapped, as is the LA308. Maybe combine the machines for one perfectly working and great looking machine? Want to see them both gone soon in any case.

You should be able to find a new timer as these parts may be available, and someone on the site will be able to coach you on installation. I would not part with it especially when you say it's near mint otherwise. I am confident someone will chime in.

I could probably find a new timer, but truth be told, I don't have the time or want to mess with it. After using it for a while, I realized that the capacity was too small for a daily driver washing for a family of 3, and I need to clear out some of the extra machines that are sitting around. I have 4 machines waiting for parts and I want to make some room in the basement. I've used it and had my fun, but it's time to move it on for someone else to appreciate. The LA308 may end up on a local for sale group but I figured I would give it a chance here first- it runs good but looks tired. Definitely don't want either of them to get junked!

Have you tried putting them on Craigslist?

I have not, but that's the next step for the A308, since it's in working condition. I'll hold onto the A207 for a while in hopes someone here wants it, if nothing else there is a lot of mint condition parts, it was working 100% perfect before the timer went. Really don't want to scrap it.
