Is there an easy way to cross reference the motors across different brands? I see a motor #W10226459 on eBay and I'm wondering if it would fit my KUDM220T |

Yes, they have the fans on them. I just don't have the seal kits for them. You will have to get that on your own at this point. |

Is the seal kit necessary for replacing the motor? |

On a DW this old you have a 99% chance that you should replace the seal assembly, the rule I use if you can't see the difference from the old seal and the new one the old one MAY be OK to use.
I apply the same rule to drive belts in washers and dryers, if the old one looks as good as the new one you can reuse the old one. |
