At last, ready for it's closeup!(and in production since December 26th) The leak at the tub hose and homespun water valve adapter has been stopped. Took it off the wheels, put the legs from my 1960 W dryer on as they are the same, in much better shape and I plan on keeping the dryer on wheels.

There is still a leak at the door bottom I have to look at, and the pullies on the new GE motor make a rattling sound, even with the belts disconnected so it must be them (bad karma from the GE motor or George Westinghouse himself playing tricks?)

Now the next project is the 1960 W dryer blower fan assembly, then I will be doing laundry just like its 1961!

Thanks to Greg (Glomain) for saving it, John L for parts and advice, Nate(Roto204) for the door boot and everyone for watching this saga. It will be ready for the wash-in!

How Mommie Dearest resisted this as a Westinghouse employee in 1961 I'll never know

Glamour, thy name is Laundromat

How fun, good for you.  It's always so gratifying to pull that first load out of a newly restored machine.  Sometimes they fight you all the way to perfection so don't give up.

I'm trying my best on the duomatic. If it only didn't have all that water sitting in it for so long. But I can't wait to run the first load in it like your Westinghouse!

You'll have the ups and downs...the low point for me was when the door switch sparked and shorted out along with the leak from the tub hose and the homespun water valve attachment. Soon you will be on your way to your first load and happy smiles!

Congratulations, Jerry!  There's nothing quite like that 'I made this machine run again' feeling.  This is a really cool machine - I hope you have many years of enjoyment with it!
