I thought Montgomery Ward had gone totally away years ago, still says 1872 in the heading so it looks like business as usual in todays world, not in the old catalog days staying with their self-branded products made elsewhere.

I wouldn't pay either price!  Much cheaper out there, and probably the same thing made in China.

Yeah Wards now is basically a Fingerhut lol. Overpriced stuff. Unless you have no other option, there are def better deals out there.

A totally ONLINE shopping venue, Ward's has now become!

Maybe the former owner just had "his" washing machine personalized...!

But, alas! "Montgomery" DOES still exist:

Yeah Wards is now a catch-all brand for weird imports, like Bell + Howell, LOL.

Montgomery Ward

...ceased to be in spring of 2001. The branding and IP rights were purchased by an online retailer, who uses the name only. There's no affiliation between the two companies beyond that.

The entire executive level of that on-line retailer should be fired -- at the very least!

And back in the 70's Wards was actually owned by Mobil Oil Corp.
