For sure. The copy hasn't changed since this ad first started running.
"Needs a professional to go through the system" tells me it's not in proper working order. I'd be very afraid it needs more than the simple tune-up the seller is suggesting.
It's a beautiful fridge. It either needs to be purchased by a "professional" who can make DIY repairs if necessary parts can be found, or it could become a prop somewhere. |

I have the '63 Frigidare model, basically the same as the one in that ad-- and I believe the cabinet is the same size--32" wide and a hair under 70" tall. I also have a '63 Coldspot Spacemaster 14, seen below. It is more along the size you'd want--64" tall and 32" wide.
There are a great deal of vintage out there made in the 64"-66" range. Happily, most are basically counter-depth, but I understand your snag with the cabinet/soffit limitations--I'm in the same boat! If you did decide to go modern/built-in, I believe the KitchenAid Superbas (Subzero look/build type) WILL fit the 83" limitation you have. I also cannot go with a unit any taller than 83", and I think the Superba is 82" (if I'm wrong on that, then it's the GE Monogram which fits--cannot recall exactly at the moment). I only can tell you I'm stuck with a SubZero which will not clear my soffits... |

I don't disagree with you on that--I personally do not buy or endorse new / non-US made stuff at all. However, I would have no issue with a modern/vintage early 90s KA unit which were still U.S. made. I come across them frequently, and mention them only as they were built manually controlled for the most part, come in the 36" width and can be paneled out in a way that will satisfy a vintage-look requirement...
