even with the issues - a deal
AD: "This is a GE Model J487L 40" dual-oven range from around 1970. This unit was in my house when I bought it 20+ years ago and it is still quite functional. The second oven comes in very handy for holiday dinners when you're cooking several things at the same time. The main oven is self cleaning; the small oven is not. I even have the original GE manual for the unit. We ran the main oven through a cleaning cycle and cleaned up the outer surface of the unit; it looks very nice, especially for its age. We did not clean the second oven (though it's not bad) or the drawers. It is fully functional with two exceptions: - The temperature sensor on the Sensi-temp burner is not working. When turned on to any target temperature, that burner runs at the equivalent of "High". The sensor runs less than $100 and has been available at MasterTech Appliance Repair near the post office. - The temperature knobs for both ovens are cracked. They work, but could be replaced. If you're looking for a classic 40" oven, this one still has plenty of life in it. You're responsible for hauling it to your location." |
