It's beautiful and unique, but wow, is it ever old-school with that thick door and companion framing on the cabinet.

 

I doubt it's in working order.  It appears the cold control is missing -- try finding one of those. 

 

At best, it's a prop.  But not at $1,500, I'd wager.

That Gibson

was made in Greenville Michigan. Electrolux closed the plant in 2004. Then even the local Meijer supermarket closed after.
I stopped there on the way to Saugutuck that summer to try buying ice, and it was nearly a ghost town.

I think this one is earlier, as I found an ad from 1946 showing one similar.
