Is that avocado in bad lighting? Either way, Mrs Wallace Vance must've had a fab time in the kitchen

I say avocado in bad lighting. Look at the last pic, I think it shows the color more truthfully.

It's definitely avocado...

but still my favorite Coldspot model of all time. The Sunberg/Ferrar units are very nice looking to me--I Almost bought a white one down in Tucson last year for $250. The last one I saw was a red one out in So. Cal (and it was a factory paint job). They wanted 900 bucks for it….
Curious to see if anyone coughs up 600 for this avocado one…!

Looks like it to me, Kenny. It also doesn't appear to have the shading Avocado usually does, so probably was repainted.

My friend Glenna D. had one of these, but it had a Coppertone cabinet with a French Provencial woodgrain front. She and Larry got it when they married in '66.

At first I thought it was Turquoise, which I think was listed as one of the colors available in the '66 catalog. I don't have easy access to the catalog, which is at storage.

I haven't seen one of these in CL in a long time. I think the last one found that I posted was white. This style works well with colors, too. It does look contemporary, with fridge designs now.

CircleW - would love to see that catalog...do you think it's a 19 ft.3 'er?

Coldspot sizes--

That fridge is a model 106 (so is my own Coldspot which is a couple years older than this green one)….and mine's a 14 cu.ft. I would guess that one for sale is no more than 16 total. You really only get between 9-11 ft. fridge space in these old things with the remainder being freezer. Not all that huge, but the Spacemaster shelving setup gives plenty of flexibility so they seem larger than they actually are. Door space suffers ALOT on those old French Door arrangements, though.

9-11 Ft.3 ?

ovrphil's profile picture
This is true. I forgot about the fact that the freezer space is included in the total FT3 dimensions. !

Not that it's easy to do, and not for this double door model, but I saw a pair of identical Amana's butted up side by side, older models, that made it look like a larger custom built-in. It can't work for alot of refrigerators, but it was an idea that I've never seen before that solves that smaller cubic footage issue.

Anyways, I prefer standalone vs. the above idea.

Allen (Funktionalart), the "106." in the model number is the code used for Whirlpool manufactured refrigerators and freezers, just like "110." is used for laundry equipment by Whirlpool. It is what Sears calls a vendor code.

Phil, I wish I could get to that catalog, but I estimate it would take me at least 4 hours to find it in the storage unit.
