I uploaded a video to YouTube of the noise my Maytag from around 2001 is making. This is during the wash cycle. It also makes a high pitched noise when it spins but I am not sure if that noise is normal or not. Trying to decide if I should try to fix this or just look for a new washer. It has served me well for the years I have had it, it was a hand me down of sorts when my mom replaced her washer with a front load one about 7 years ago. If anyone can give advice I would appreciate it.

Sounds like you need a drive belt and idler pulley.

Malcolm Thank you! I know I can probably do a belt repair but I need to google the pulley replacement.
