That was a major score, presuming you didn't pay more than three figures for it.

I gave only $150 for it but I had to have a machine shop make a part for me the connects to the motor that connects to the rod that moves the wash arm back and forth that cost me $300 but now it's fixed and I don't know what it worth. One person offered me $3000 for it because it is very rare.

They're rare, but --

Yeah, no FB here and no plans to join.  Somewhere in the archives here there may still be a thread that contained a video of a LT in action.  Is it "powerfin" in Washington state that nabbed a LT some years back?

The machine is worth whatever the market will bear.  Just like with classic cars, you may not always get back what you put into it.  If you're not planning to sell it, it doesn't matter what it's worth to anyone else but you.  Enjoy it!

What would you say it was worth?

I still say fully functional, it will bear about $150 or so. As RP2813 stated, it is worth whatever the market will bear. If you are looking to sell it, you may find a person that will pay more, but there won't be many. It just isn't that rare of a machine. A cool machine indeed, but not rare like the dishwasher insert for the Thor washing machine.

Again, I have to be reminded that I still haven't found my dishwasher insert for my Thor!

Thanks.

But glad a club member did get this dishwasher!

David,

Beautiful example of a rare machine.  That being said, you know that there is no easy way to place value on an item that 99.5% of society values it as scrap.

I think you will be able to get your money out of it, but agree with Ralph that you should have taken the $3,000 offer.

That's very cool - wall of water washing!  Have you tried a load of dirty dishes?

Wow!  I didn't realize the Ling-Temcos had a light in them!  What a cool dishwasher - I've only ever seen them in magazine ads before.

Light

dgray316's profile picture
I installed the light in it myself. It just brought the appearance to the front of the line and gave the dishwasher a whole new look. It is a 12 Volt LED light. The light just made it stound out.
