That washer was the model just above my 1978 in features--with the separate wash & spin speed toggles.  I don't think this model was available in 1978, but I could be wrong.  I would have preferred this model.  Other than the extra toggle, it was exactly like that, but had the 3 speed combos in one toggle switch.  The dryer was exactly like that one.

I bought these!

I'm going to use this in rotation with my Maytag 806's . So are we thinking they are 1978?

Anything I should know about these to get a good life out of them.

I would love that washer.  Especially if it were in a color.  I too always liked the separate speed control switches.  

The first washer that started it all for me was a 1969 Avocado GE with similar console, though it had the sud-saver instead of the extra rinse.  That was around 1981 and I was 13.
