So Jerry, I'm guessing the reason for this post is to try and inject a little humor???

Or possibly some sadness since there was NO actual wash in???

I'm sorry, I guess I just don't see the point of posting a thread about a wash-in that never happened.

Kevin

Jerry,

I'm sorry members cancelled on your planned wash-in. It's our grand daughters B.D. party today, or I would have tried to get there. It's an easy 5 to 6 hour drive.
You have a nice home and lot. At times, I still miss the burgh. I visited often when my grandparents were still living through out the early 90's.
My dad was from Renton, and my mom from Midland, over by Beaver.
I bet we were all born at Elizabeth Steel Magee hospital. My ex's folks were from the Jeanette and Irwin area, but that was another life ago.
An article in Parade magazine on Pittsburgh about 20 years ago said how friendly folks are there. How it is one of the most hospitable places in the country, where kids still have Sunday dinner with their folks, and are helpful and neighborly to others.
Maybe it's the hard times following the steel industry down turn that helped keep it that way. I'm seeing that same spirit here around Detroit. The changes take time, but we will one day again be great, like Pittsburgh is again.
My aunt passed away in October, and I could not attend her funeral.
Like my mom before I was born, she was a nurse at Mercy hospital from the 70's through the early 90's. She lived on Railroad street in North Bessemer in a quaint craftsman bungalow.

Jerry has always given a one year advance notice for his event.....no reason not to be able to request time off for work if you have to....

I don't buy that excuse for this one.....

besides, what ever we missed on this one, we'll more than make up for it next year....

maybe we can campout on his back lawn next year to extend the visiting time.....yeah, right!, like we'll behave...Scouts Honor!.....lol

we could build a campfire by rubbing two....err.....sticks together!

Sorry I couldn't make it Jerry. I do look forward to them, but later in June works best for me, but I'm just me. Sorry it looks like no one else showed up? I do really hope to make it to Pittsburgh Wash In 2017!

I would rather have been there.

Instead, I was recovering from being sick last week & installing a huge window air conditioner. My chest and head feel much better now, but my back does not!

Next year in Pittsburgh!
Dave
