As per the title, let's have a picture thread of the world's nicest and ugliest looking machines.

I'll start us off with a few. I think the best looking machine is the Miele W1

Another handsome looking machine, by Vestel of all people!

Time for some ugly ones. Not sure who's this is, think it's Vestel again

I still have a soft spot for the V-Zug Unimatic T. A pity V-Zug stopped making this machine.

Pictures from ricardo.ch

Good looking Unimatic

Hi foraloysius

This is indeed a good loking machine and how clean it looks :-)
Funny that you found that picture of this machine in the internet. It was my machine, I sold it on ricardo.ch. It doesn't look only good, but it's also made of very good materials.

Another good looking machine is the V-Zug Adora Line, the previous line with metal door. This picture shows another machine I sold.

That's funny indeed! I visited the Zugorama once, fell in love with V-Zug, especially the Unimatic T. Your Fust Novamatic looks good too, but I prefer the Unimatic T you sold.

Previous Miele Line

I don't know if I'm the only one, but somehow I really dislike the new Miele W1 Chrome-Edition. If I had to buy a Miele then I would prefere the W1 Whitline, it looks much better but never that good like the Miele Supertronic.
The Supertronic is very sleek, it looks brilliant.

I want a washer that looks LIKE a WASHER-NOT some sort of lab instrument!

The V-Zug

Unimatic looks like a well made appliance. I see why it is no longer in production.

The V-Zug Unimatic was made for laundryrooms in apartment buildings. It runs on 400 Volts, so a boil wash is done in no time.

Quick

Yes that's true! Thanks to two large built in heating elements it's quite fast. A 95 degrees celsius - Boilwash takes 1h and 15 minutes, including a proper 40 minutes wash, 3 rinse cycles with intermediate spin cycles. Another good thing is that it imediatly ramps up in spins, there is no balancing trash. And of couse it's very silent.
They stopped building these Unimatic toploaders because energy-label restrictions. It wasn't possible anymore to build such a machine that could meet the strict energy label requirements. And of course, new appartments in Switzerland would usually have their own washing machine. So there is a decrease in demand. The new Unimatic line is based on the Adora Line. Actually it's the same machine, just in a bigger cabinet, with some better components and a more clear user interface.

well although I'm a Miele Man, I thought I'd post a couple of them from the Indesit Company, starting with the decade-old but still lovely looking Aqualtis :)

and from the same people, this hideous looking integrated model with a "toilet seat" door. :(

I always thought the Whirlpool Duet Sport's

from around 2007 (ish) kind of looked like a toilet! Not attractive -but I hear they were decent machines though.

I agree it does look like a lavatory seat!
The Zug looks stunning

Time for some more examples. Let's start with good looking. The Grundig made by Beko Arcelik

Let's not forget the stunning AEG protex

And the very avantgarde Siemens with its dashing black fascia

Time for some ugly ones. Those of a nervous disposition may want to look away now..
LG who make some nice machines came up with this monstrosity

Post# 886316 , Reply# 24   6/21/2016 at 15:25 (2,864 days old) by Adamthemieleman (York)

More ugliness, only a face a mother could love. Sorry Panasonic, I normally like your stuff, but come on, were the design team ill?

Post# 886317 , Reply# 25   6/21/2016 at 15:26 (2,864 days old) by Adamthemieleman (York)

More ugliness from British retailer Next.
I'm not sure which is worse, the style or the colour

Post# 886318 , Reply# 26   6/21/2016 at 15:29 (2,864 days old) by Adamthemieleman (York)

And finally, a Marmite situation, love it or hate it. I personally like the contrarotator in silver or white as it's unique, but not purple.

The LG

looks like a see through oven. There are some ugly machines here, but I have to admit the Meile W1 has a fine style to it. The Speedqueen looks classic, which is good cause I just got mine last week.

IMHO

Perhaps the most timeless design in a while. I love the classy and clean design that is uncluttered.
