Someone who knows more may come by with more info. For now..
If you post a pic of your washer, agitator, agitator post, ect, may help us figure it out. Have you talked to Phil and explained your problem? Think you may have the wrong part (plastic spline) Could it be possible that your washer is supposed to have a different agitator? (not the aluminum one) |

Hello Brenda
IN IMPERIAL copy and paste into search 36465 1948 Maytag E2L ( complements of Kenmore71) Shows great pictures of an E2l agitator and tub spline, a 1948 machine. I have a newer model that uses the blue agitator.. Hope this may help.. Hang out and someone that really knows Maytag wringers will chime in. |

or part out there...somewhere.
The part pictured is unfimilure to me, don't think I've ever seen that? I can't understand why Phil wouldn't have a plastic spine for you to remove and replace the spine in your current agitator? Maybe Dave will have one, or or a replacement agitator. You might email Geoff here in the forum or Larry, as they have rebuilt these machines from top to bottom and may recognize this, and know of a more permanent fix. There's a solution to this! Keep us posted of your progress |

I've got one of those about 2 years ago from Lehman's Hardware in Kidron, OH. They refurbish Maytag wringers for the Amish. Give them a call.
