Are my eyes deceiving me or is that Crosley dishwasher a roto-rack design ???
What is the story behind Crosley appliances. One of my friend's Mother had a rubber tub Crosley washer (Like the one Robert has) when we were growing up.

Your eyes do not deceive!  It's a D&M built dishwasher with a Crosley nameplate.  The American Kitchens dishwasher was very similar around this time.

AVCO, Aviation Corporation, that bought Bendix in the lead up to WWII because of Bendix radio technology for use in airplanes and thereby came to deal with the Bendix washers was the originator of D&M. There was supposed to be a merger of Crosley and Bendix, giving Bendix and Crosley complete appliance lines, but at the last minute the Bendix laundry line was sold to Philco. Many Crosley appliance dealers lost their shirts in that corporate sleight of hand maneuver.

Thanks Tom

I knew that Crosley & Bendix were connected somewhat but had no idea about how, where, etc. I appreciate the information. In later years there were Crosley refrigerators, washers & dryers. Who manufactured these ???

Crosley manufactured radios, TVs, ranges and refrigerators. The washers and dryers were to come from Bendix. I have seen an ad for a Crosley washer and dryer that were Bendix clones with square doors with rounded corners and there is that rubber tub, but that was an effort that died aborning. If any were actually made before the deal fell through they are as rare as hen's teeth. I think the dishwasher might have been offered longer because that was part of AVCO's steel kitchen cabinet line and not dependent on Bendix manufacturing, none of whose products seem dish friendly. One of the Father Knows Best kitchens had a Crosley range and refrigerator, I think, but the laundry appliances in that kitchen were plain Bendix.
