I do not know if these will be restored or not. I will tear them down and try to make one good one out of the pair. If not, will scrap them out for spare parts for Roberts 1956 Norge.
These sat out in a very secluded, wooded junkyard for about forty years. It is not a pretty sight. Veg beware. LOL!!

They had sunk several inches down into the dirt. The painted part was under the ground. Funny how that saved the paint.

In fact, the pump was still stuck in the dirt after Kenny helped me haul the washer up out of it's grave.

The porcelain is just gone off of the tops of these machines. Did not know that was even possible. It just chalks off on your hands now.

Well.....Not exactly ready for a load of whites, But check out the dirt in here. It looks very good, like it could be used for potting soil. I would guess that this is a result of forty years of rotting leaves, etc.

WOW!Cool ,despite the poor things sitting outside for 40years-and the "rusttone" finish!surprized snakes and other critters weren't using them as "critter condominioms"If they were found here-would garantee there would be a snake or two living inside. If here in NC as well-they would have corroded away in that time.Would be neat if they could be "reserrected"

Oh they are ever so ugly, and it sure looks hopeless. But wouldn't it be a fantastic machine, if it could be rebuilt?

Last rites?

That looks like quite a job to even tear them down for parts! I've done the junkyard restoration and it's certainly an education in patience! Good luck with these, the 58 is certainly a beautiful machine despite it's current state.
