WCI version, not GM.

Same as Admiral, Tappan, and Montgomery Wards.

That is the exact fridge, right down to the almond color, that Dave had when I first met him in 1985.  He bought it used.

We nicknamed it "The Charm" because it never kicked in on the first two attempts.

WCI POS Refergerator

I wouldn't have to kick it out of my kitchen because it would never be there in the first place, LOL

You got that right Ralph about these refs having compressor starting problems, and boy could they wake the dead when they did start, having everything exposed on the back like that sure made for noisy operation.

Yes,

and they sold millions of them. I think they were even branded Kelvinator.
When the price point was $50 less than a Whirlpool, or a Coldspot, let's just say in those days $50 bought a lot of food to keep in it.
The doors never seemed to line up either. Not even on their top mount freezer models. My '95 Frigidaire Gallery 21 cubic ft. model either. It was quieter though, and we had no trouble with it until we got a larger SXS in 2007.
We gave it to a neighbor for their garage.

Doors Don't Line Up

You are right Mike, its always a bad sign when doors on a refrigerator don't hang and line up correctly.

When Maytag started selling refs in the late 80s into the early 90s after they bought Admiral the initial quality was so bad that a large local dealer said that about 1/2 of the MT Refs that went out to customers were REJECTED Immediately because of poor door fit crooked shelves etc and sent back, needless to say they didn't push MT refs much after that.
