These were interesting machines in the fact that everything including the timer was mechanical. They seemed to change quite a bit in the late 50's and 60's and were somewhat more conventional. In my part of the country I never even saw a solid tub model. In fact the very first time I actually saw one was when a laundromat replaced all the machines they had with new Blackstone ones in the early 70's. That machine was much different than the solid tub machines they made up to that point. I think shortly after that they quit making Blackstone all together.
