I wonder if it's missing some legs. I've never seen one down that low before either and it looks like maybe the legs were taken off if that's possible....but why?

Styling wise the model shown above was something that came before the full skirted models made later by Whirlpool.

This one is definitely newer than my 1948 Kenmore as it has a Visi-Matic wringer. The round dial on the front is a timer that does ring when the washer shuts off after the time set.

I think it's just the angle of the picture making it look kind of short.
