So Dennis and I flew in from Maui last night and boy are our arms tired (rimshot)

Of course the first thing out of Dennis' mouth is "Are there any estate sales?" So we go over to a sale at 743 W. Idaho Ave. I make a beeline to the basement and darn near fell over. What do I see but a "Thor-O-Matic" washer. It had a blue formica top and a wobble type agitator. I still cannot believe I saw such a rare machine!

I rushed back to where we stay to leave an incoherent message on Roberts phone. Good thing he has caller ID and phoned me back later. I would love to grab this machine myself, but cannot fit in suitcase for trip back to Maui next weekend!

I still cannot believe I saw such a rare machine at my first estate sale back on the mainland!

Oh My! Would this be a Thor incarnation of Bendix's Power Surge??

that the guy who ran the estate sale today calls me back, I did leave him a message late this afternoon.

Good catch David!

This machine looked exactly like the Bendix Power Surge- The formica top was a pretty blue, it had the same strange wobble plate kine agitator. I had to go back in the basement 3 times to make sure what I was seeing was real and not just the result of my severe jet lag. I told the man handling the estate sale that I knew some one would be interested....

Well word (from Virginia) has it that an Apex PAIR has gone to the krusher, so either they were the last ones EVER-----or somewhere lurks another!

Anyway, this is a great find!

This has been one of the most exciting days on the site for me. I would give up all my machines for the Holy Grail of the Bendix Thor.

Are there any pictures anywhere?

You brought the luck of Maui to Minnesota--what great Karma you must have!

Yes?
