Many of you know of my love for the old "gray ghost" Maytag wringers from the '30s. Having restored a second one (a 30WP) last fall, I have since realized the lubricant in the power unit should have been grease - NOT gear oil. Since the restoration, there has been slight leakage of lube around the pulley shaft that enters the power unit, accumulating at the bottom of the belt guard.

So ... today, I bit the bullet and tore down the machine - yet again - to replace the oil with grease.

If anybody has contemplated doing this but as yet has not attempted it, I hope my video sheds some light on the process of the re & re.
