Checkrate/Likes 1 Hello, Due to 2 heart attacks, 2 heart surgeries and 2 strokes I have not been on line for over 2 years. While on the mend and now that I am supposedly OK again I have, on occasion, read your threads so am a bit up to date. I have lost contact with Brad and Ted during my absence. I hope you are both doing well. OK here goes the reason for my thread today. I have found a Speed Queen Wringer I would like to have. The numbers are DW9053W #142063155486. If anyone can give me some assistance I will certainly appreciate it. My best to you all! I really enjoy reading what you all have to write and have learned lots from each thread. Jim

Checkrate/Likes *hi Jim* I have 3 Speed Queen wringer machines, but I have never looked for model numbers. All 3 wash well and the stainless steel tubs are very good. What is it that you would like to know? Happy washing and welcome back, Jim. Gary

Checkrate/Likes *Geeze !!* I forgot to state that I would like to know if anyone might know the build date of this SQ. Thanks for the welcome back. It seems like it has been longer than it really has since I have been here. Anyway, I would certainly appreciate any information anyone might have on the date this SQ was built. Thanks in advance !! I have searched the web and can find nothing as to how to go about doing this. I do have 4 other wringers in my stash. One NIB SQ w/o pump and a new Maytag N2LSP that had never been used when I got it. The paper was still on the rolls. They have both been used by me a couple of times. I also have other Maytag wringers; a 1948 E, 1958N, 1965J and 1981 E. These 4 all have pumps that I installed during their restoration phase. I used them all prior to my heart problems on a rotation basis and will start using them again. I just like using a wringer washer to do laundry. I call it my therapy day LOL. My automatic washers consist of a GE portable with agitator and a new Danby portable with agitator. I have had the GE for 9 years and only replaced the pump because it was getting loud. It is an awesome unit and is also used as a spinner when I use the wringers to get more water out before I dry in dryer. I unfortunately can not hang clothes outside where I live. The Danby is also an awesome unit. I have had it a little over a year with not a problem one. It is more quiet than the GE and has an automatic 2nd rinse which I like. I bought the Danby because it was the only one on the market now that still has an agitator today. I got it on Jet.com for only 254 bucks with free shipping. How can you go wrong LOL. Prior to the GE I had 2 Sears portables and they both went to pot in less than 2 years. GE portables are very pricey these days. I guess everything is pricey these days tho. OK I am done rambling now !! Thanks again for any help anyone can give me and also for the welcome backs. Jim

Checkrate/Likes *So happy to hear from you!* Jim - I had been very worried when I didn't receive response from a couple of e-mails I sent to you. And then I noticed that your personal info had been cleared from your profile here on the club. Subsequently I inquired on the forum if anybody had been in contact with you, or knew what was up. Unfortunately, I did not receive word. Ted and I got together in Washington state a while back and your name came up. I had imagined something terrible had happened - and it apparently had! But I'm relieved to hear you're "on the mend" so to speak! My e-mail is still the same, so we can pick up where we left off! Take good care of yourself!!!

Checkrate/Likes Hello and Thanks Brad !!! I am happy that you and Ted got together. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall listening to all of the Maytag talk and restoration chat. Had I been healthy I would have liked to have joined you. I am so very much more fortunate than other people who have gone through what I did. I can't complain one bit. I came through the surgeries with flying colors and have rehabbed to be my old self. My Amish friends helped me immensely with things during it all. They even came to the hospitals and rehab centers to visit me. You never know how many good friends you have until you find them helping you. OK enuf. I read the forum daily now so am up to date. I have a great understanding with a couple of the remembers who have written about other remembers being critical of others opinions. It bothered me for a while that a couple of the most popular members had jumped down my throat and tap danced on my lungs but my feathers were soothed by others in the club especially our friend who also loves Hyacinth Bouquet (Bucket) and has her pic on his header. He really soothed my situation !! I was made to feel like poor Elizabeth when Hyacinth works her over LOL. As Bette Davis said "we can't be liked by everyone". Now to continue with friendly chat with you, Ted and the others here. Jim

Checkrate/Likes *My dad* had a quadruple bypass in 1995, two stents in 2001, took care of my mom until she passed in 2013, went on dialysis soon after, then joined her in 2015. He said Plavix must have kept him alive so long, as he only had two open coronary arteries since 2008. He did have a mild stroke in the noms area, but went home after ten days of rehab with no complications. I had an uncle who lived 5 more years after his second severe stroke. I don't know your age, but I hope longevity is on your side.
