Two Saturdays ago, I went to a Speed Queen dealer not far from Omaha that I'd been to several years ago but was closed. I saw a couple of older machines through the window so made a point to get back there for a better look. The owner of the store started in the appliance biz in 1946 and opened his own store in the mid 60's. Here is the newspaper ad for the grand opening he had hanging in the store.

He has this washer for sale on the floor, a mid-70's large capacity solid-tub - with metered fill, one step down from the TOL at the time. It's in nice shape, owner said it was checked out in the shop and works fine, I don't know when that would have been, everything is rather dusty in this store and Si - the owner- is in his 80's. He wants $150 if anyone is interested, email me.

He also has this older model dryer with stainless steel drum, not bad condition for it's age, but the panel is a bit rough. It's electric, the cord is an extension cord for testing machines and refrigerators.

Thanks for posting Greg. Looking and hearing Steve's speed queen in Atlanta this past weekend makes me want on of those too. What a horse of a machine. It takes no prisioners. If I were coming up real soon, I'd tell ya to grab it for me. Not now however. But, Thanks!

Steve

Greg, that is so cool you found that shop. Reminds me of the shop in Edmonton I found that had harvest gold solid tub SQ's still for sale. I never saw a tub like that before.

See if this dealer has a speed queen lint filter. It is the only item I need to finish my collection. I will pay 100$+ for it. Thank you SpeedQueen GKC.
