That is by far the most unusual rack loading arrangement I have ever seen. What kind of sprayer arm does this have to wash the dishes?

periwinkles.

So cool! Thank you for posting this. I want it, but I do not have the money required to have this shipped to the USA. Looks like a GE pull out bottom rack with a Miele upper rack all in turquoise!!!!!

Oh Nemesis, are you looking at this? We both know we both want it.

The size of the vent

is large!
Bruce, looks like a 4 arm spray similar to older Kitchen Aids from what I can see.

There should be a ruler across knuckles that you guys have not been paying attention to what goes on on this side of the pond.

This dishwasher does not use spray arms at all but an impellor to drive the water, indeed it may possibly have been the last impellor dishwasher in production as it lasted through into the early 1970s. It is rather smaller than a "standard", its capacity is about 2/3 of a standard machine. If you scroll down to reply 32 on the attached thread you will see pictures of the one Richard (Ricky5050) turned up a while back an some of us saw for the first time earlier this year. There are more pictures and discussion of it further down the thread too.

Richard very kindly donated this machine to the Sutton Washer and Dishwasher Collection (leaving me well a truly gobsmacked in the process) a couple of months ago so it will be popping up again

Al

I had

enough rulers to the knuckles in Catholic school thank you! "just kidding, but I knew some kids who really did."

This machine was truly a beauty to watch in action earlier this year :-) Very dramatic wash action with the impeller but with a long silent heating period prior. Definately a keeper if anymore like this pop up :-)

Pretty dishwasher!

I noticed the plug has only two prongs, I thought Switzerland had three, instead of the Schuko plugs. Is this machine not grounded or am I missing something?

Not sure about the ground.

Older wiring may have been grounded from the panel only, as was the case here in the USA until the late 60's.

I had wondered because the opening in the center of the rack reminded me of how they did it with impeller dishwashers. Very interesting. Would love to see what the impeller looks like.

A window on the ...

Good thinking that man :)

Actually it would be very simple to do so (if you could bear to) as the door and body are single skin - yes it is quite noisy although the wash cycles are not that long - its heating the water that takes the time

of course this machine was grounded! but earlier in switzerland there was two way to do it in a single plug: the first king of grounding pin was a female on the plug and so a male on the wall plug. and then come the new and actual standard that is a male pin on the plus like the neutral and the power pin.

you can have a look on the swiss standard on the attached link. the third is this one. T14 standard.

today, the 380V machines are corded with the T25 standard. scroll down to see it.

I don't want to be chauvinistic but I can say that the swiss electrical plugs are... just perfect in form and fonction. but we pay for it! we pay our specificity in a globalized market... but this is another story...
