Nothing better then a sight unseen diagnosis. I'd say that his advice is worth every cent you paid for it.
Clearly it sounds like he has no interest in keeping older machines running. The dryer is a good example. Yes it is old, but dryers can run forever. Sure parts availability is sketchy, but it could be a dead simple problem or one involving a part that is still available today. Again, he never looked at the machine, he has no idea. The washer may run many more years, especially if you find a technician interested in providing service vs unsubstantiated advice. |
