Have you tried YouTube.com? They give you instructions on how to post videos and you could probably post a link to them from your auction to make it easier. It probably would be better than using the potentially costly bandwith to this site too.

yes bob

actually the Kenmore "turnsover" quite well, but in this case, I had two, large, heavy rugs in the machine so they weren't really moving much

Well of course with a smaller load it has better turnover. But theNorge beats it hands down. I was seduced by kenmore pizzaz after the norge died. But the super rotoswirl did improve turnover. Again, I was seduced by kenmore pizzaz in 1986 with the DD LK, I should have sent her back.

I think for the size of the load....this older roto swirl seems very "action packed"..these were very impressive agitators for their time. I actually like this agitators action over the norge...to each his own.

Wow! Reminds me of the KN washer my grandmother had.Loved watching it as a little kid.Loved the "suck down" and "push back up" action.

Are you sure it's a 52? I didn't think the frog-eye was introduced until 53 (like Robert's) and had a bluefaced dial. Your blackfaced illuminated dial looks like a 54 or 55 model.
It's dissapointing you're only allowing local pick-up or I would try to bid on them. I sure would love to have those beauties here in Atlanta! BTW, I love your 31 Easy video!

I also didn't think Kenmore introduced the rotoswirl until around 1955.

Hi Les

thanks Les, but as I stated in the listing, if buyer makes ALL necessary provisions/arrangements, I will leave outside on day of pickup. So if you want them, you just have to set it up :)
have a nice weekend

Before your time!

Roto Swirl came along in 1950/51 in the old style automatic with the knobs on front. It was in the high end wringers also. Definitely, Roto Swirl was indigenous to the model in question. My Great Aunt had the set and I watched it all the time.

Roll Over

You have a lot of faith, to overload and old beauty like that. The rugs were over the top and even the load you demoed later with the mixed colors was what I would call a bit too much. Guess the washers are tougher than I gave them credit for.

Greg, I'd love to see your stuff, but the youtube won't start up; it just loads and stops. What am I doing wrong or omitting. Can't wait to see, esp that 31 Easy agitating. Is that the one with the plungers? Never seen one in person or on film.

Thanks for your hard work.

hey mike

Mike, I have no clue as to why its not working, do you have "dial-up" ? that is the only thing I can think of is that your connection could be to slow ? let me know .........

Post# 134708 , Reply# 31   6/9/2006 at 17:10 (6,527 days old) by gregm ()
year '53

I think the washer is a 1953 whereas the first two # 's after the 110. are "53"

I have Adelphia High Speed Internet Cable, and it's a whiz and I've always been lucky on this site to be able to download everything. Is there some little trick to you tube?

lesto, as requested before, why not post a pic of your machine dahl'in? Then it would be fair to compare years, doubts, exceptions of opinion my dear, as the court would decide, without proof of/or evidence, then the burden rest in your case. Would love to see your collection, as the Atlanta area has a WONDERFUL Frog Eye Kenmo, it resides in a part of East Point.

Kelly, if you think the colored load was overloaded, you should watch the last of Roberts Easy Automatic videos! i remember Toggleswitch also posted some vids with a truly overloaded GE.

Mike, I would just left click once on my link, that should work, I don't think right clicking and trying to download works with this. Again, I think you just left click once and it should bring you immediately to the video and start playing it automatically.

Easy ily Stuffed

You are absolutely right. I couldn't believe how much was getting stuffed into the Easy. I thought the load was big to start and then he says, "Let's see how it handles overloading." I would be afraid it would strip some gears or make it start to knock. I hate knocking agitators.

YouTube doesn't allow right-click and saving the file, no way to do that that I've found thus far. It temporarily spools the file to the browser cache, then the file auto-deletes when the page is closed. I've tried saving the cached file, doesn't work.

Anyway, I'm on a dial-up, and it does work, just takes long. If the playback is paused, the file will continue downloading/spooling, and will play smoothly when downloading is complete. As long as the page isn't closed, the clip can be replayed without having to be re-downloaded.

I've found that a download accelerator I have causes the clips to be cut short even though the download apparently has finished. If I disable the accelerator so the download can run at "normal" speed, it plays correctly.
