this looks to be 1985-86 to me.....direct drive 27" cabinet.....triple dispenser, yet only a two speed at this point, 3 speeds were added during the 90's...
although oddly enough the dryer is 29" wide.... Jerry, you should running for this set.... I have one of the last versions of this....1998-99....3 speed, and a few extra cycles, but basically the same machine.... you can't beat the full lighted control panel.... |

I could be slightly off on the dates, this could be 1989-90.....theres an asterisk between the cycles and selections....
that 'asterisk' allows you to cancel the 60 second detergent dispense after start, and go right into filling.... my 88 model didn't have that, but the 95 version did...... yet the dryer should have been 27" by this time..... |

....except mine are Almond in color.
Indeed 1987 is direct drive washer 27" wide with 29" wide "matching" dryer. So THAT'S what that asterisk is for! I've always wondered! My 1987 washer has the * My set is still going strong after 28 years with only a couple of minor repairs (agitator dogs & starter for fluorescent lamp). I always like to think because these cost such a HUGE amount of money (in 1987) that they built them better than the lower grade models. They did come with a 5 year warranty when I purchased them new in 1987. Still on the original motor coupling which, to me, is amazing. GREAT SET - Hope someone on A/W buys them! |

some features they should have kept through out the series of the LIMITED's....
certain dryers had two pushbuttons in the door opening......this was an 'unload' feature, by pushing both button at once, it gave a short burst of power to the drum, to tumble clothes from the rear to the front for unloading... the 88 had it, but the 95 did not.... also a nice upgrade was either going with the Dual Action Plus, where the spiral was angled downward......or my choice was the Kitchen Aid larger base agitator, as for the 95, most wash cycles used the slower speeds for agitation......Heavy Duty was probably the only one at top speed... Triple Action Plus was just a gimmick for allowing the spiral to raise to push the clothes down......but that was it, just a gimmick....not all that effective...it didn't bounce to push clothes down as advertised.... |
