I have just acquired a Miele W754S and noticed on the rating plate the spin speed of 950rpm. My other Miele W754S says 1100rpm.

Did Miele first make these machines with a 950rpm.

Cheers.

Paul

Hey there Paul,

I am not 100% certain, but I do believe the W754S may have had a prototype 950rpm release model as I think it was Miele's first high speed machine. Miele are known to make multiple variants of 1 model...take for instance the WT745 Washer Dryer, the Hydromatic model is 1400rpm, but I've seen some 'Novotronic' and 'Deluxe Electronic' models with 1250rpm. However the majorirty of W754S I have seen are 1100rpm. :) hope this helps.

Brandon.

By that time 1100 rpm weren't particularly high, previous series already had 1000 rpm machines.

Was your machine perhaps imported from another country?

Miele W754S

Hi.

Thanks for information.

I was always under the impression the machines where 1100rpm. The rating plate says made in Germany max spin 950rpm.

All I can think of is the machine was the first W754S ever made. For its age it's in very good condition.

Had email off Miele today. The machine ranged from December1983 - July1989. There was different variants to this machine. First model with 950rpm to the later models with 1100rpm.

I am lucky to have the model with 950rpm & 1100rpm. They such a solid and robust made machines.

Miele changed details on models rather often. And then there are the differences between countries. Somehow the Netherlands often got the models with the higher spinspeeds, sometimes higher than the German models. I guess we are a high speed country. ;-)

Actually I can't remember seeing here a W754S, only a W754. I found some brochures. The February 1983 one doesn't show a W754. The lower end models were the W751 (900rpm), the W753(1050rpm) and the W756(1250rpm).

In the August 1987 there are only a W750 (1150rpm) and a W756 (1250rpm) for the BOL range.

And in the December 1987 household catalogue there is a W754 (1150rpm). Also a W755 (1250rpm).
