Any ideas?

Ad Copy:

New price.....GE Profile Electric cooktop and oven......Looks new, oven rarely used.......The range top works perfectly and is in excellent condition.....it was here when we bought the place......I used the oven once to bake a cake and it would not work again......possibly because it sat for quite a long time and wasn't used......

I spoke with the owner.
The oven doesn't heat but the cooktop does.
A technician ALREADY installed a rebuilt board.
The unit sat for years unused until the oven was used successfully, once, a few months ago.

Hmmm,

I don't know why the oven would only heat once. I had a very similar Kenmore range but with calrod burners. The oven control was on the right side. Circa 1990.
We never had a problem with it, and when we remodeled, it was still in perfect working order.
It was also very heavy. It had full cabinet sides. My new profile dual fuel is also very heavy, but does not have full sides.

I had this model in my first home and it'a really good range. Temps were right on. If you really like it you should go for it. You can most likely get a replacement board on ebay or even a rebuilt board (checkout Corecentric.com) for not too much money and you'd get a great appliance. Hopen it works out for you.
