Need Help For a KDI-20 That Does not Power On

Have you been able to start the dishwasher since the mid-cycle stall you described above? Depending on how the machine was installed and the age of the house, you may have a separate circuit for the dishwasher and it is possible that the breaker or fuse blew. With any luck, there should be a list of which fuse or breaker controls which circuit on the electric service panel to guide you. If you have breakers, click the breaker off then on again and retry the dishwasher. If you have fuses, even if the fuse looks intact, replace it with one of the same rating as the one in place and try the dishwasher again. Fuses are tricky as they can fail even though they do not show any signs of having 'blown'.

If you have an older home, there is also a possibility that the dishwasher shares a circuit with other outlets or lights - if you have noticed that other lights or outlets have also stopped working since the dishwasher issue, check the fuse or breaker panel for anything blown or tripped. It could just be a temporary overload... Hopefully that is all it is!

Checkrate/Likes Hi everyone, I'm a newbie here. My Kitchenaid Hobart Imperial Energy Saver V lost power after it initially filling and was probably heating the water. I'm stumped! I thought it was likely a fuse as it was probably drawing a lot of power at this point in the cycle. But apparently this model has no thermal fuse. I also can not find any external fuse. The washer was here when I moved in. Would it be normal to install an external fuse for a dishwasher? Have not done any diagnostics yet. From reading online it would seem the most likely cause is a bad door switch. But would a door switch fail mid cycle? I would appreciate any help and suggestions. Thanks, Ric
