the usual culprit KitchenAid toploaders were notorious for having a broken wire in the lid to the safety switch, thus killing all power to the machine. Be sure to REPLACE the wire and NOT patch it/splice it inside the lid. it's usually one of the 2 wires, but I'd replace both. I have a service manual if you need more info. SteveD | ||
