The absolute

Best cooking and baking range you will find, the most even heating oven you can imagine, its a 53or 54, Thrifty Thirty,The units are 5 heat 3 wire units as opposed to the Flairs 2 wire infinite heat, no The top does not lift up, I hate those that do because they are always flimsy...there is NOTHING flimsy about this good old GM product...Comparing it to todays stoves is like comparing a 54 Cadillac to the flimsy plastic things purporting to be a Cadillac today!

The gray clock means ’53.  I have the ’54 with the brick-red clock; the unit itself is Sherwood Green.  I absolutely adore it.  It’s an amazing piece of kitchen equipment.

The burners are the same style as the Flair, but someone else will have to confirm if they are truly identical. They are wired in, not plugged in.  Also, the oven has nichrome coils top and bottom, which might be unfamiliar to you.  I love them, but they are different from the solid coils used today.

For the price, I’m tempted to get this one myself.  I paid a lot more for mine, but the color was rare enough to make it worth it to me.

got the person .. their phone number, so can make a time to see it....
I cant go...so..... will depend on Hubby make a good choice
OH I assume it has a TIMER? one that buzzes like crazy? just my kind so I can hear it
anything to ask or look for>?????? The owner said he could hook it up to show it works I just hope it has no mice etc damage....
Oh how to fumigate it ??? after buying a beauty of a fridge back in 2012 from a guys ,storage locker at nite>>>>> ended up with ROACHES...roaches..
We kept it in the garage. could not get rid of them... what a shame. Hubby sold it by the time he made his almost last load of moving stuff.

Pull the bottom element out

Of the oven, it just unplugs, and check the oven bottom for rusty places, that would be a deal breaker for me.

This is a 30″—a Thrify 30, as Frigidaire called it!  Robert has the Owner’s Manual for the ’54 in his Automatice.

If there’s any bad news lurking around in that unit, it is almost guaranteed to be with the clock and timer apparatus.  Since you mentioned that is an important feature for you, I must unfortunately rain on your parade, at least a little bit.  You definitely want to ask about that.  Also, on my unit, the oven won’t turn on every once in a while, because the timer has slipped into ‘off’ position.  I just give it a twist till it dings the bell, and then everything is fine.  This is something I have been planning to fix since I got the unit, but it’s so insignificant, I don’t bother.  For you, it might be more of a concern.

My

1952 model Thrifty 30 timer and clock work perdectly, the spring wound minute timer are broken though...But that oven cannot be beat, no matter what or where you put something, it bakes and browns perfectly.

It's mine fellas. My 1950 40" Frigidaire is a bit too big for my kitchen, so a 30" (or more ideally a 36") should work nicely. The only thing I'll miss is my deep well, but I'm sure I'll use the extra burner more.
