Is this any cause for alarm? I had let laundry get backed up and did 4 loads yesterday, and although everything worked as usual, when the door unlock sounded at the end, it was not followed by the usual 3 long beeps. I honestly don't care about the end of cycle signal, but is this an indication that something may be going? The machine is almost 12 yrs old.

Why water in drum? Would make for some drippy washing. |

that was it - how stupid of me.
back when I first got the machine, I kept end of cycle sound on medium and haven't touched it since, so it's been so long I forgot you could even turn it on/off. The weird thing is, I'm the only one that uses the machine and I never turned it to off in the first place. at least now I know nothing is going on the machine yet. |

Don't sweat it, Mark. We've all been there one time or another. I was furious that the upper oven on my 2-year old range had stopped working. You guessed it: I had turned on the lower oven.
You did, however, rob me of the chance to chime in with, "See? Modern front-loaders are pieces of crap! Only 12 years old and the cycle signal stopped working!" LOL |
