wow--that's a very old one for coppertone----cold plate in refrigerator and refrigerated shelves in freezer (i.e. not no-frost).

Some friends of the family had an Admiral Duplex refrigerator, and it was in Coppertone. They got it when they moved into the house sometime around '65. It was the largest I've seen at 48" wide. I saw in an ad that they had one model 52" wide!

I'm interested that you said that, Hans. I'd like to know why because I've noticed the differences between how the refrigerators in professional kitchens, which are, generally, not frost free, keep certain foods better, and then vice versa, with other foods.

The first appliance brochure I ever kept was for Admiral side x sides; I can't remember why except that they were presented in many different colors and I thought they were neat.

Well...

Air blowing on food does nothing but dry it out...My current so called refrigerator,is terrible, ice cream is either hard as a brick or very soft, depending on when the defrost cycle is..I just plain despise that thing, also, if something smelly accidentally is uncovered, that moving air spreads the smell into everything! Give me a manual defrost freezer and Cycla Matic fridge anyday!
