Here's a still from the 1973 episode, "Law and Disorder". Watching that scene where the washing machine overflows with suds made me laugh so hard tears came to my eyes!

These look like Whirlpool machines ... anybody care to advise the model?

They certainly are Whirlpools from around 1966-69, similar to that Inglis washer, probably a lower end model without the rounded control panel and lens. I have Canadian RCA manuals at home, I'll try to find a model closer to that.

Another pic of the Whirlpool set -

Found this pic of the laundry room from another angle...from a later episode. Looks to be a slightly different floor plan.

And you would think in that custom mid-century house that Mr. Brady would have designed it to have the washer on the left and dryer on the right (unless they were Maytag machines..!) so as not interfere with the dryer door opening swing... Of course a hamper-door dryer model would have been more appropriate.

Man, I need to go that sometimes POD brochure (I saved it on the harddrive of my big computer; I'm using my iPad) to look up the models of those W-P machines from that era, those were featured as...

Easily what I would go vintage hunting and owning for...

My parents' machines at both houses and mine now are arranged with dryer on the left and washer on the right ... puts the dryer on an outside wall which is conducive to the exhaust route.

Yes, an excellent architect such as Mike Brady would have put the dryer hookup where it is for exactly the reason Glenn just mentioned - venting purposes. Family of mine that owned the fabulous 1963 Kenmore 31480 matched set lived in a subdivision where the reverse floorplan placing the dryer away from the outside wall meant that owners of those houses could have no dryer next to the washer; it would be put clear across the utility room opposite the washer. After about three years, my Aunt used the Radio Flyer wagon we kids had abandoned to schlep the wet things. Uncle made a negative into a positive by building a wooden stand the height of the machine: folding table on top; storage area at bottom.

A Very Brady Renovation

Darren,

They didn't show the Laundry Room on A Very Brady Renovation during it's initial 4 episode run, but....  due to the shows popularity they extended the series to include two bonus episodes (starting next week) that show more behind the scenes type footage.. but will also include reveals of rooms not shown on the main series.

One of those unseen rooms will likely be Alice's bathroom because it has been discussed quite a bit in interviews but it didn't make it on the show when they remade her bed room. Since Alice's room is located off from the kitchen and near the laundry room it's possible that room might still show up.

It's a really fun show for Brady fans, if you get a chance to check it out.
