That was really neat!! I just wonder if Persil was only available in certain areas as I never remember in around here. Thanks for sharing this. Terry

Persil is a British brand, it's probably the best washing powder available. Used it when we lived in England in the late 70's. Then it was available in two formulations: Persil Automatic, a detergent for front load automatics and Persil, a soap powder for twin tubs and top load machines. Amazing results in one wash, stained tea towels looked new again. I still use the results from a Persil Auto wash to judge a detergent's performance. Then most everyone used Persil, everything else was used for colours. I used Persil Auto for lights and whites, Bold Auto for a biological prewash(Persil didn't contain enzymes), Surf Auto for colours(sometimes or just Persil Auto)and Lux soap flakes for woolies. Clothes were cleanest ever then. Thanks for posting the commercial, it was fun to watch.

Someone's munchle satchel white . . .

LOL. I think they are saying "Someone's Mum thought that was white".

Here is a link to a British site that has 3 Persil commercials (or "adverts" as they are called there), along with some other cool British commercials. I can't WAIT to go to England!

Bryan

P.S. To find the Persil adverts, click on "Adverts" under the "Generes" section on the left-hand side of the screen. They are alphabetized. Enjoy!

Did you know that Simon LeBon from Duran Duran was in a Persil commercial when he was a boy? They said so on MTY, I'll try to find it.

Great Advert

What a great little advert and catchy jingle as well.
I vaguely remember the Persil ad here in Oz from about 5000 years ago L.O.L.!!! it was about two kids running through a meadow and the voice over said "Your clothes are not white unless they are Persil white",or something like that.
