Got my new washer today. Needs some cleaning up. I noticed that when the washer is running and during the spin there is a slight smell of burning rubber. I took off the firm cardboard back to investigate. All looks well. The belt seems to have decent tension. Is this just a common smell? What should I be looking for? I will include a pic of the serial and model number if someone can tell me what year it was produced. Thanks!

Burned rubber odors

Leads me to suspect "binding" somewhere. Pump?

Hot Rubber Smell

Run A load and see if the belt seems very hot, in general I would just keep running as as long as it is functioning properly I would not worry unless it is a really bad amount of hot smell.

Hmmm interesting. Mine has never smelled like that. If anything you need to worry more about leaking or rusting. Keep an eye out for that. Otherwise these things will keep going forever it seems LOL
