Just throw them in.  I'll reload it later.  I guess he took me literally.  Wonder what that one are wonder would do with this load?

Re hubby

You're lucky your husband knows what the dishwasher is use for . My late husband couldn't find the kitchen. He was surprised to learn there was a machine to wash the dishes -

Ugh!! I think he did as well as my 12 yo daughter...lol! Perhaps it is time for a training session? I did a loading training session with my daughter just last week, because I got tired of having to rearrange everything. I explained to her to look at the ports on the sprayer arm, with specific demonstration, to determine how to load the machine properly, and also to put the bigger stuff along the perimeter so as to not block the spray. She grumbled about it, but I think she got the idea. I'll find out next time she does the loading. :)

Mine thought he'd be helpful and ran the dishwasher once. He didn't know that the Finish tablet is supposed to be unwrapped before use. For the record, those wrappers are 100% waterproof!

My stepson

loads dishes the same way, and doesn't rinse food into the disposer or ever turn it on.

I must say I have Tony trained rather well.  Although, I can cram much more stuff into the KA or Maytag (and it come out clean) than he can.  To be fair, I have been loading a dishwasher for 42 years.  He's only been doing it regularly for 14.

Sure,

so he gets a pass, but our flatware rack runs front to back, all the way along the side, and our kid nests all his spoons, knives, and forks at the front too close together. When I've asked him not to, he makes sure he crams more in, just to be sarcastic. He takes after his uncle who is a big practical joker.
He sees how we place the large plates on the opposite side so they don't block the spray to the flatware, so he loads his big plates next to it.
It's like banging your head on a wall. It feels good when you stop.
Like at my last job, chasing the young kids who were hiding and phoning or texting their friends rather than working.
Effitol! I'm done!

I am pretty lucky...

He's a really good guy.  He does all the stuff around the house that I hate to do (which is just about everything not related to the kitchen).  If I took the time to explain the one arm wonder and it's quirks he'd likely say "the kitchen is your deal, why don't I just leave them in the sink" so instead I'm OK with this.  I just thought it was funny the way he put them in.

Our daily driver is a KDS20 and he does a fine job with that one but it's hard to load that one "wrong."

Let him have at it!

Ralph,
I think you should let him "hubby" load it to the gills ala "Bobload" and see how well the machine performs. Before and after pics will be mandatory!
