I completed a slight restore of a 1997 Kenmore Series 90 washer. New parts list as follows: tub Gasket, lint filters (removed the Magic Clean comb filter), clutch, pump, suspension pads (both sets), motor coupler, inlet valve, temperature control switch (switch only - not the board) and of course - the dogs. Outwardly it is in fine condition. No yellowing of the end-caps on the control panel. Very few scratches overall. And a wonderful washer.

Now for the niggling... when the wash cycle begins to fill the flow rate is great. I have it set to Warm/Warm. It proceeds to do its washing thing and gets to the refill for the rinse. And the flow is less. Again, new inlet valve, new temp setting switch (only- no board swap), new hoses. Regarding the slower flow, is this standard procedure or is there something I've missed? During the Rinse fill it doesn't fall to a trickle... it fills ok. It's just less than the initial fill rate. I've also noticed that if I goose the Water Temp switch to a position between the Automatic Temp Setting options during the rinse I get the full amount (as per the main wash fill). Is puzzlement.

I have a Whirlpool washer from that same time frame and when you are using a warm rinse setting, the washer will switch over to cold water for the deep rinse and give a warm spray rinse in the final spin to warm up the fabrics. Its an energy saver kinda thing. Your washer is performing as designed.
