Is it from 1964? The serial # has me confused. According to the info I have N was never used for month designation. Y was used for year 1964 though.

I'd call it a '64 as well, Ken.  It looks like the GE 'match-all' version of the V12 dryer!

I have no inkling of what year it is from. I was guessing / hoping the serial number would tell the year in some way. If there is some other marking that I should look for to better identify the year, please enlighten me. And thanks for looking!

sbabiak, you've provided a great picture of the model number tag - 1DA 516Y1W and that letter 'Y' is the year code which translates to 1964 in GE-Speak.  Thank you for taking the time to take plenty of clear pictures!

Mille neuf soixante quatre

Je concur.

Toggle switches from 1961, panel color from 1962, dial face from 1963, Lexan panel design from 1964.

Oh to be back in the Sixties when America actually manufactured things other than tranches, calls and puts.

The new unit that will be replacing this dryer gets delivered December 24, 2016 - so anybody interested in getting this old dryer must get back to me and be able to get this out before that date, otherwise it will be hauled away by the truck delivering the new dryer.

Would you consider detaching the control panel and wires? I'd like to buy it but don't want to pay for shipping the whole big thing.

I guess I could just disassemble the parts you might want and let the remainder be hauled away, if there are no offers to take it in its entirety first.

Last call - this dryer is scheduled for haul away on Jan 7, 2017 so anybody interested in this dryer or any parts from it should get in contact with me ASAP. Thanks for reading!
