Lightedcontrols Mark Harmon has reproduced the Kelvinator boots and mine arrived yesterday. They are just beautiful Mark! A wonderful job that looks like very high quality rubber and molding. I tried it in my Kelvinator washer and it works perfectly. I personally thank you for taking the intiative and time, trouble, and expense in having these boots reproduced. And thanks for sending it out to me so fast........it is very much appreciated! Jimmy

That is super nice Jimmy to have a brand new boot for your machine!

Mark, how did all of this come about and what would one have to do in an effort to have something like this done? I know a lot of the bellows/rubber for Frigidaire are not available and other philco parts etc? Very curious to know.

Good Job!

Steve

Wow - I just got mine this morning! Minutes after reading this thread, I walked downstairs to find a package! Mark, the quality of the mold and run is wonderful! I cannot wait to now get started with the Kelvinator. Again, thank you for your time and energy that went into this project. May you be blessed!

Ben

Hi Everyone!

Sorry that I'm just getting to post as I've been away a few days....but NOT TO WORRY!!! I'MMMMMM BAAAAAAAACK!

Jimmy & Ben! Glad they got to you ok. Can't wait to see the machines all back in perfect working order!!!

Steve, First, a mold of the boot has to be made, and that's the expensive part. The mold for these boots ended up costing about $3,000 when all was said and done. The great thing about it is though, that now, I can have an infinite number of boots made from this mold. The people that make the boots make them to factory specs with the exact same material that was originally used. It took about 3 months from start to finish on this ''boot'' project, but it was well worth it knowing that these wonderful machines will be up and running again. I don't know what it would cost to make the bellows seals for the Frigidaires, but thank Goodness there's still some of those around to keep us going for a while.

I still have a few left, so if any of you want them, please let me know and I'll get them out to you. If I should run out, I can order more but it may take about two or three months to get them. Mark

Mark,

What a nice gesture it was to have these done. I'm sorry I don't have a Kelvy to help defray the cost you incurred. I would imagine that getting the colored Frigidaire rings and cap reproduced would be VERY cost prohibitive. Thanks for undertaking this big project. I'm certain that Jimmy, Ben & whoever else bought boots are very appreciative.

Rich
