I think it's the other way around. Sani-Wash on Maytags was the heater was when selected throughout the circulation periods. Temp Boost did a thermostatic hold during main wash. Sani-Wash was the original feature but because it wasn't thermostatically controlled, no assured temperature. Temp Boost came much later. |

Addendum to my previous post...
The power light (On light which is a good thing it's there to let you know it's running :) ) will go out during the Main Wash, Pump stays running, timer stalls, until the temperature is reached. Upon reaching the temp, the light comes back on and continues through the cycle. I have not seen this happen on the last two rinses. |
