Did the "screen drawer" on the dryer do a good job at trapping lint? Was there a problem with lint escaping inside the machine?

I saw one at a Salvation Army store...

I pulled out that drawer, clean, but still a few lint remnants there & possibly more behind & beyond what the naked eye could see...

I was used to  seeing a metal plate inside the dryer door telling me whether it was electric or gas--and I never thought of looking on or behind the control panel--but then, I should'a looked behind the whole cabinet... --I would have known better that way...

PULSAMATIC DRYER

I have this model dryer in the 1956 year. The lint tray traps the lint and I never had any problem with any lint in the drum nor outside the dryer. Frigidaire only made electric dryers in those years.
