These machines were right after White Westinghouse acquired the Frigidaire line of appliances from GM. The washers were completely different than what Frigidaire had up to that time. They were Westinghouse clones and were smaller in capacity, did not wash as well and spun out much poorer than the previous models Frigidaire machines. The dryers were probably the very worst dryers ever manufactured. The dryers in particular had all sorts of problems within the first year of use. The dryer rollers for the drums failed and air movement in general along with lint build up was a big problem. No wonder that they finally went to the old style Westinghouse dryer design within a few years. These machines finished off any even decent reputation that Frigidaire had left in the washer and dryer industry. Makes you wonder what on earth the powers that be in that company were thinking! How sad.....

Bruce,

I think they were thinking they could sell washers on Frigidaire's reputation from GM. They kept the console style the same.

I noticed the one-speed BOL washer has a slower agitate speed and faster spin speed (620 vs. 515) than the other models which makes me think it may not have been produced by WCI. I wonder what was under that Frigidaire camouflage control panel on that BOL model?

Probably so, but they paled in comparison. Just a shame. I do know what that BOL machine was like. It had a plastic tub and was the Franklin design with the 5 finned agitator that indexed like crazy. Not a great machine either, but did wash and spin a little better. Bearings and seals went out pretty easy though.
