Hi all on the deluxe forum, I'm more usually found on the imperial side, so I apologise if this is has been covered before.

Though I have a far amount of experience with repairing vintage and newer appliances, I have little knowledge of lg machines.

The model in question is a F1443KD, 11kilo, direct drive 1400 rpm. It has the fixed outer tub and the drum is free to move on it's suspension inside the tub.

So, it tumbles fine, goes to distribute and spins up to about 200 rpm,and both empty and when evenly loaded it rotates smoothly, then goes to accelerate further and then the drum goes out of balance and drops back to the distribution phase again.

I can see from the tumble speeds the drum isn't distorted, but I notice it is a model with the balance ring of ball bearings around the edge of the drum, and I wonder could these be the problem, as when the drum is turned by hand, when you stop, i can hear the ball bearings, fall round to the bottom of the drum quite slowly.

Though the machine is in a light commercial setting, the larger machines do most of the work, whilst this does the smaller loads, to me it looks to new to give up on.

I'd be grateful of any help, thanks

Mathew

Are you sure about the fixed tub (called Centum system)? These machines only launched last year to my knowledge, and the model you mentioned is way older.

Hi Henene4

It's a 2009 machine, it's on a label stuck to the top of the tub, and yes it's definately a fixed tub, I have to admit when I first looked inside I thought the transit fixings hadn't been removed, as I say I don't know much about lg machines and when what features were introduced, but I've worked on countless machines over the years,so soon worked out design, but the suspension set up is exactly as the youtube promotions for the steam machines with the graphics showing the balls moving to balance the tub, which is why I wondered if this balancing may be the issue. Or maybe the tub shouldn't run empty, but then it runs up to quite a speed on the tub clean cycle, which is run without a washload.

The system has been around for years. LG simply renamed it and made it look new again. This video is a couple of years old and you can see how large the outer (fixed) tub is.

The same user also has a 15 minute video on his channel of the washer trying to spin between rinses and eventually aborting as it can't balance...
