the gray splash shield tells you its a Raytheon built machine.....way before Alliance took over....these models were prone to the seal failures...
these were built under Amana, GE, Speed Queen names during that time.... Alliance didn't build for anyone else, just Speed Queen or Huebsch only.... GE stretched out to a number of other manufacturers, even seen their names on Fridgemore FLers... |

These were also sold under the Maytag name, most ended up in the recycling stream within a few years. I brought one home from the discard pile behind Lowes one night and took it straight back the next morning.
Was looking behind Lowes one night and a guy pulled up ready to snatch a pair of these and asked if I thought they were still good. Hahaha. Nope, don't waste your time. |

Our Amana had the same seal failure @ 7 years in 2005. 1998 must of been the year of purchase, it had the grey tub guard as pictured. I remember the front panel was 1 piece not the 2 piece front as shown in reply #2. |
