Sorry the pictures of the first machine are not so great, those were taken a while back on an old samsung slide phone when I went to visit an appliance store. |

for the most part, their the same exact machine......
may be a few changes in cycle operation, but minimal at most.... an advantage you may want to choose, is changing out the DualAction to one of the newer styles, like the PLUS version, with the slanted spiral, definitely more effective than the first version... |

The machine in the first couple pics is almond in color, and is model number 110.92273800, correct? And your machine is model 110.92273100 in white, right?
Those two model numbers are the exact same 1992 model 70 series machine, only the color is different. The 8 in the first number indicates almond, whereas the last 1 in the second model indicates white color. There was a 92272100 model, which had only cold rinses, and a 92274100 model, which has a soak cycle right before pre-wash. The 80-series versions of this machine are not much different...one adds a five level water level switch from the three used here. Another adds ATC auto temp control, and another activates the dormant second rinse cycle after the Heavy Duty cycle. Somewhere along the line in these 80-series machines, a full porcelain top and lid were added over the Dyna-Guard finish, and an infinite water level was offered as well. A great many models used the basic framework of the 92272100 machine, up to the 90 series. I may have mentioned this before, but the machines in the 1992 line started a dramatic departure in operating philosophy for the DD platform with Kenmore, which had previously been copies of the older BD cycles, to better tailored cycles written around the DD agitation style. The premise of the low speed agitation of the Normal cycle here developed later into the speed switches used heavily in the mid 90s onward which were so popular and so very flexible. Many used appliance dealers today think these models are the best DDs ever made. Gordon |
